CONNECT WITH US

There are many ways you can meet and connect with as at Stanthorpe Presbyterian Church.

We are a group of Stanthorpe and District residents of different ages, from different places, and with different backgrounds. We meet together and enjoy the friendship and fellowship we have because there is a common thread that joins us: each member has come to know the love and grace of our loving heavenly Father, and have received the wonderful gift of forgiveness and rescue through the cross-death of Jesus Christ the Son of God. We are eager for you to have this wonderful gift too.

Audio recordings of Sunday messages can be found on the Messages page. Videos of the Sunday services are on the Stanthorpe Presbyterian Church public YouTube channel (Opens a new window or tab).

In addition to the usual Sunday church activities, there are other meetings and activities as described below where you can find out about us. You can find answers to some questions on the FAQ page, or you may contact us.

Peter Preaching

CONNECT AT SUNDAY SERVICE

The Sunday Morning Service is often chosen for the initial connection by visitors and those who are investigating the claims of the Christian gospel. It really is a good place to connect with regular attendees.

At this service you will hear the the gospel message and observe how we conduct our regular Sunday service.

We begin our meeting at 9:30am at the Stanthorpe Presbyterian Church building, located at 14a Leslie Parade, Stanthorpe. Visitors are most welcome to meet with us.

This service includes singing of traditional hymns and contemporary Christian songs, a time of pastoral prayer, Bible readings, and a talk about one of the Bible passages read.

Talks about the Bible are clear and simple. Our aim is that all those who attend be well informed about what the Bible teaches, and consequently to live lives that are acceptable to both God and others.

A morning tea is provided following this meeting.

You are welcome to contact us.

Morning Tea

CONNECT DURING MORNING TEA

Following the Sunday Morning Service, a morning tea is usually provided.

This is another connection time to meet and talk with others over a cup of tea or coffee with light refreshments, in a very relaxed setting.

It is a time when you can have discussions with members, the minister, or elders. Any questions you may have about Christian life and the gospel message could be raised during this time.

It is a wonderful time of fellowship.

Kids Church

CONNECT KIDS CHURCH

On Sunday Mornings, during school terms, a Kids' Church for children is held while the Bible message is given in the main auditorium.

Prior to the Sunday Message being given, children are invited to exit to attend the Kids' Church which ends at the same time as the main (adults) service.

Talks about the Bible are clear and simple and appropriate for the age of the children.  The talks are usually based on the same Bible passages that were previously read to the whole congregation.

On arrival (before the service begins), parents should indicate their permission for their children to attend.

Please contact us if you would like more detail, or if you have any concerns.

Home Group

CONNECT THROUGH HOME GROUPS

Several Home Groups operate for participants to meet at acceptable times during the week. These home groups may meet at the church building, in members' homes, or may move between locations. The location and time for each group is determined by the group.

Groups involving youths are held with appropriate supervision.

The Home Groups meet for social interaction, Bible discussion, and prayer. An elder is assigned to lead each group in studies which follow the messages given in the previous Sunday Service.

All are welcome to attend one of these groups.

Please contact us if you would like to attend, so we can determine which home group is most suitable for you based on current group size, time and location.

Prayer

CONNECT IN PRAYER

Prayer is an important part of church life. It is the way we communicate with our Heavenly Father and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

While there is a time of prayer at every gathering of the church, there are times allocated specifically for prayer.

The times and places for these prayer meetings may vary; so if you would like to join, please contact us.

Jam Session

CONNECT THROUGH MUSIC

If you are musical, this MUSIC PRACTICE / JAM SESSION is for you.

This is an opportunity for you to:

  • Play an instrument
  • Learn to sing as a song leader
  • Learn new songs to be used in church

These sessions are usually held on Thursday afternoons in the church building on Leslie Parade.

You are most welcome to attend and participate. Please contact us if you have any questions.
